The Regiment Today

The London Scottish Regiment today represents the Scottish martial tradition in London. We are proud to be part of a strong and interconnected network of Scottish organisations working, often collectively, to represent Scotland in London.

A (London Scottish) Company

The London Scottish Regiment today is a diverse entity spanning a serving company of Reservists forming part of the London Regiment. This is A (London Scottish) Company. A Company primary role has not fundamentally changed since 1859.  Supporting and delivering capability to the regular army.  We have been part of the fabric of London for over 150 years. The Company is proud to be Combat Infantry.

The Company is based at 95 Horseferry Road, Westminster.  We meet at 1800 every Tuesday.   There aren’t many Reserve units that have a home like ours.

The London Regiment has been the most highly deployed Reserve units in the country with A Company at the forefront. Supporting our regular counterparts on:

  • Op FIRIC (Falklands)
  • Op TELIC (Iraq)
  • Op Herrick (Afghanistan)
  • Op TOSCA (Cyprus)

In 2017 alone soldiers from the London Regiment have been on exercise in America, Australia and Canada.  As from October 2017 the London Regiment became part of the Household Division.

The Pipes and Drums

The Pipes and Drums are the oldest volunteer pipes and drums band in the world. They are active nationally and internationally at national commemorations, military parades and charity events, as well as private functions. The Pipes and Drums have their own section on the web site (click here)

Regimental Headquarters

This unique building at 95 Horseferry Road, London acts as the Headquarters of the London Scottish Regiment and its Family. It also houses the Regimental Museum and archives. 95 HFR, as it is known, is used by both the serving Company for training and relaxation, but is also the base for the Pipes and Drums. The building retains many of the features of its original home at 59 Buckingham Gate including its 3 distinctive War Memorials and elegant cast iron and glass roof structure.

The Regimental Association

The Regimental Association is the living history of the Regiment and maintains a full and vibrant calendar of social, charitable, and representational events and activities. There is a strong bond between the Association, A (London Scottish) Company, and the Pipes and Drums. It too has its own section of this website. To find out more click here.
